New House at Edge, Cheshire

Demolition and replacement of a dilapidated asbestos building with a complex new design.  An interesting combination of traditional 'Green Oak' framework, steel and masonry construction creating a traditional appearance but concealing  'Super Insulation' levels and innovative passive solar heating/ventilation to produce an energy efficient, modern home that blends into its surroundings.

Finalist in LABC Building Excellence Awards 2013 - Best Dwelling, Best Sustainable Project, Best Technical Innovation.

New House at Malpas, Cheshire

A large new detached house that required significant engineering solutions to provide the required accommodation and an imaginative use of modern materials to meet current energy efficiency standards.

New Stable Block with Grass Roof, Cheshire

A traditional style outbuilding designed to match a newly built house.  To blend in with the surrounding countryside a grass roof and natural oak boarding were specified.

The grass roof provides natural sound and thermal insulation and is not just to taunt the equine occupants!

Replacement dwelling – Threapwood  (currently in progress)

Another significant project to take advantage of a dilapidated building in an attractive location. Numerous planning constraints were overcome and a detailed design prepared to overcome challenging ground conditions and take advantage of an isolated rural site.

Redefining a disfunctional house that had been altered beyond recognition over the years. Minimal but characterful extension works and a reorganisation of the internal accommodation created a modern working family home.

Green Roof Garden Room Extension at Malpas, Cheshire

A challenging project to extend an existing traditionally built bungalow with a garden room to blend into an established setting.

A green sedum roof was specified to maintain the outlook from the existing accommodation and also provide an interesting wildlife habitat.

The design successfully provided a tranquil office space and music studio which fits well into the established garden.
